Negro League Database
Research players to find the perfect ones for your team, or just to learn more about the Negro Leagues! It's free to download the database, but you must be a member of all-timebaseball.
The database currently contains material from three different sources (Bak's book about the Detroit Stars, Debono's book about the Indianapolis ABCs, and the MacMillan Baseball Encyclopedia). In some instances, player data for the different sources conflict. In these cases, all information for the players is displayed. The source of the player information is displayed for each player, for each year. Notably, for the pitchers, data for the RPG/ERA is provided. RPG is analagous to ERA, however, since fielding errors were often not recorded in the primary source data from which the statistics were derived, it is an overestimate of what the true ERA of the pitcher would be. The database contains statistics for dozens of ballplayers, but is by no means comprehensive at this time. It will be updated periodically to include more players and stats. The database is in Excel 2000 format and is 248 kB.
